Decode the Bubble Tea Menu Masterclassš
Hey! Itās Cecilia, and IāmĀ so excitedĀ to bring you a brand new Masterclass all about reading bubble tea shop menus in Taiwan!āØ
You know there areĀ millionsĀ of bubble tea shops hereāand just in time for Taiwanās hot summer, this is the PERFECT class to get you ready to order like a local! āļøš§
In this Masterclass, Iāll teach you how to:
ā
Read the mostĀ commonĀ and useful Chinese characters seen in nearly every drink shop
ā
Recognize creative drink names that even translation apps canāt handle (Taiwanese people areĀ too creativeĀ sometimes š)
That's no all,
ā
Understand character componentsĀ (help youĀ recognizeĀ andĀ rememberĀ characters better!)
ā
Learn ChineseĀ logically and systematically, so you actually REMEMBER what youāre learning
This isĀ notĀ one of those classes where I just throw vocabulary at you and expect you to memorize it and forget everything three days later.
This is a class to help you build a strong foundation for learning Chinese charactersāso they actually stick in your long-term memory. š§ š”
4-week Chinese character classātaught through the lens of reading bubble tea shop menus.
I sayĀ āthrough the lensāĀ because what youāll learn goes far beyond just reading a bubble tea menu. These are characters youāll encounter frequently in restaurants (for beverages and desserts), supermarkets (especially fruits), night markets, and convenience stores.
Super bonus exclusively for students in this class!
You will receive a printable flashcard that I personally designed, featuring the keywords we learn in class. You can use it to review and practice as often as you'd like!
These flashcards are part of a product I plan to sell in the future, but by joining this class, youāll get them for free.
Amazing reviews from my students:
I really enjoyed this course - it's such a practical way to learn characters. Cecilia is a great teacher, giving us good visuals to remember characters and adding in interesting stories to make them stick. Before this class even though I knew some characters, I still felt really overwhelmed whenever I went into a boba shop. Now I feel a lot more confident and ready for ordering boba everyday when I visit Taiwan! I also like how Cecilia points out the nuances and different synonyms used - very useful!

The course was very informative and made it easy to learn and remember characters. The content was good for the time in class and for the week. I didnāt feel overwhelmed at all.
I love how easy this course is and how much it relates to real life. The practice in class to find things on menus was great for actually reading and looking at different fonts.

Meet your rebellious teacher Cecilia
I refer to myself as a "rebellious" teacher because it is my nature as a person, not just as an educator.
I have always been averse to traditional education, even advocating for homeschooling when I was only an elementary student. The rigid school system and learning style didn't cater to my creativity! And we were learning a lot of things that the professional educators think thatās what we need! We took it all and never question why?
Now I am a teacher, I don't teach what the traditional mandarin education system think what we ''need to teach'' anymore!
In my teaching, I prioritize what's useful and applicable to my students' everyday lives in Taiwan (AKA content that can actually can change your life), rather than rigidly sticking to textbooks or formal language.
If you are looking for new style of learning! I am here for you!
By the way, my course is used by one of the largest enterprises in Taiwan as training material to assist their foreign employees.
I was interviewed by Los Angeles Times
I was happy to contribute some knowledge in an article talking about the difference between Taiwanese Mandarin & Chinese Mandarin! And they show my video on their site :)
